Partner-Level Family Law Attorney

Position Overview

Our client, an established and respected law firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Family Law Attorney at Partner level to join its growing family law practice. This opportunity is unique in that it is a key part of the firm's succession planning and intended for an experienced family law attorney who deisres to assume leadership of accounts and grow their practice.

The ideal candidate will bring substantial family law experience, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage matters from initial consultation through resolution. The firm is seeking an attorney who combines strong advocacy skills with the professionalism, discretion, and empathy required to guide clients through complex and often highly personal legal matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a diverse caseload of family law matters from initial consultation through settlement, mediation, trial, and post-judgment proceedings.
• Represent clients in a broad range of family law matters.
• Develop case strategy and provide clients with clear, practical counsel regarding legal options, risks, and potential outcomes.
• Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, marital agreements, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, negotiations, and trials.
• Work effectively with financial experts, custody professionals, valuation specialists, and other outside professionals when appropriate.
• Maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and thoughtful, strategic counsel.
• Collaborate with attorneys and professional staff across the firm to deliver exceptional client service.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior attorneys and staff as appropriate.
• Contribute to the continued development and growth of the firm's family law practice through professional relationships, community involvement, and business-development activities.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active and in-good-standing license to practice law in the applicable jurisdiction.
• Typically 7+ years of legal experience, with significant experience handling family law matters.
• Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex family law cases.
• Strong litigation, negotiation, legal research, and writing skills.
• Excellent judgment and the ability to navigate sensitive and high-conflict situations professionally.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a client-centered approach to practicing law.
• Ability to manage multiple matters, deadlines, and priorities effectively.
• Established professional relationships and/or a demonstrated ability to develop business are valued, but a portable book of business is not necessarily required.
