Situation. Our mid-size law firm cient is seeking an experienced commercial litigation attorney as part of their succession planning. This is a key role for the firm in serving their clients, growing the commercial litigation practice, and potential leadership opportunities
The Role. Our client seeks a partner-level attorney experienced in commercial litigation to represent businesses in matters related to one or more of the practice areas including:
- Commercial Litigation
- Construction Law
- Equipment Leasing & Finance Litigation
- Commercial Real Estate Disputes
- Commercial Creditor Bankruptcy
- General Creditors’ Rights.
Prerequisites for the role.
- Significant experience in developing and serving clients in some mix of the above listed practice areas
- Experience working in a private litigation practice with an understanding of, and prior responsibility for, managing the business aspects of a law practice
- NC Bar license in good standing
- Strong legal analysis and writing skills
- Strong courtroom and negotiation skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and work well with others in a team environment
Ideal candidate’s experience will include.
- Demonstrated practice leadership ability, including in the supervision and development of associate attorneys and staff
- Dual licensed in NC and SC (or willingness to obtain SC licensure)
- 7 or more years of litigation experience in federal, state, and/or bankruptcy courts
